Victory In Italy

Victory In Italy

story continues below...

In the end, the campaign turned out to be a tough old nut. Most peoples’ understanding of the Italian campaign is Monte Cassino, along with the landings at Anzio and Salerno. However, there was much more to it than that and the troops faced a hard, brutal slogging match as they advanced up the length of the country. The author has put together a first-rate account using good assessments and eye-witness reports. Attention to detail is very good and the numbers of troops involved in engagements will astound readers coming to this phase of the war for the first time. This is an enjoyable book and an excellent reference resource.
