Weapons And Fighting Tactics Of The Waffen Ss

The title of this work is something of a misnomer because it gives the impression that the Waffen SS had its own range of weaponry and vehicles and used special tactics. Apart from the MP44 Sturmgewehr the Waffen SS used standard infantry weapons used by the army and they also used the same tactics. What made the difference was the way in which the men fought with more spirited determination and made them a strong adversary. There a few simple mistakes in this work which was first published in 1999, which should have been corrected for this issue. There is no new material which would be of interest to an experienced reader, but for someone just getting started they would find the work a helpful introduction. The illustrations are good, if somewhat ‘grainy’, and would have benefitted from better captions.
