The Sniper Hider

The Sniper Hider is a screw-on lens extension tube manufactured from anodised aluminium, making it robust and lightweight. It attaches via the thread provided on most rifle scopes for a sunshade. The system was originally developed for British snipers to combat light reflecting off the objective lens being seen by their intended target. In that, it’s similar to the ‘kill flash’, which uses a series of hexagonal holes on a filter disc. Internally, it houses a disk that when closed fits flush, sealing the tube and providing full protection from rain, dust and foreign objects. It can be opened and closed using two external thumb screws, one on each side. It can provide the user a full sight picture while only being open a few degrees, keeping the majority of the objective lens covered. There is also the added benefit of reducing glare on sunny days. It is currently available for; the Schmidt & Bender PMII series, Steiner M5Xi, Kahles K624i, Hensoldt ZF, Vortex Razor HD Gen II, Nightforce NXS and the ATACR.
