Jack Pyke Luggage

When you consider Thatchreed Ltd launched Jack Pyke as a brand to enter the modern hunting sector then you’ve got to admit it’s been a huge success. Not only are their own camo designs of English Oak, English Woodland and Wildtrees Grasslands very popular but the products in the range are always well designed and superb quality for the price.

PRO SPORT

Now they’ve launched the Jack Pyke Pro Sport range which rather than cater for the hunter is aimed at the Clay Shooter. It’s a much smaller selection, but includes the expected Shooting Glasses, Ear Defenders, a few items of clothing and the products detailed here - The Pro Sport GP Gun Slip, Range Bag and Cartridge Carrier.
The Gun Slip could just have been the bare bones basic design most offer, but it’s obvious from initial inspection that the company wanted to offer something a little special. Like the other luggage it’s made from 600D Cordura with foam padded interior it opens with a heavy-duty full length zip and measures 54” long and 9” at its widest point. Along with a muzzle protector and ‘D’-ring for hanging to dry, it boasts three cleverly designed exterior pouches with Velcro fastening strip along one side specifically designed to hold specific items - ear defenders, shooting glasses, choke tubes and key in elasticated loops. There’s also a flat zip fastened pocket on the other side near the butt for your gun licence or other documentation.

GRAB & GO JOE

It has a fixed yet adjustable heavy-duty shoulder strap and large Nylon webbing carry handles - most generous for a quick pick up. The company claim it’s got a ‘grab and go’ design which obviously relates to those generous carry handles and superb pocket design and arrangement.

The Pro Sport Range Bag has ergonomically designed carry handles and a detachable adjustable shoulder strap. Measuring 16” X 9” X 11 ½” it closes by a heavy-duty zip along the top. Externally it has eight, open-topped storage pockets. Such is the clever design when opened the bag holds an oblong form making delving into it easy for bits of kit you may need. Also inside is one zipped pocket with clear view mesh and one with a folding closure flap and Velcro seal. There’s also an elasticated topped thermos holder base at one end.

The Pro Sport Cartridge Carrier is pretty standard fair measuring 9 ½” X 6” X 5 ½”. The full heavy-duty zip around fastener at the top is positioned to offer a lid and the ergonomic carry handles ‘wrap’ together thanks to a padded Velcro fasten handle. Designed to hold 100 boxed cartridges it’s the perfect complement to the other luggage in the range.

This is well manufactured gun luggage for the shotgunner and are well thought out to give maximum features and ease of access and use. Stylish, well built they are available in olive green, black and black & brown (as shown). I’d say Jack Pyke has another winning product line and very reasonable priced.
