Jack Pyke Rifle Slings

These are the company’s two latest design rifle slings named the Eagle and Falcon – no particular reason only to differentiate between the two designs. Both are adjustable from 50 – 120cm, come in all Jack Pyke camo patterns of English Oak, English Woodland, Wildtrees Grasslands and Black. Both have good quality, QD 1” swivels already fitted. Both are manufactured from good quality materials The swivels are Jack Pyke’s own brand, made from blacked steel to prevent corrosion and the slings have neoprene shoulder pads with heavy-duty ‘ABS’ buckle adjustable canvas straps running to the integral sling swivels.

STRETCH

The strong, stretch comfort fit shoulder pads measure 15 ½” and also feature useful integral thumb loops for secure carrying.

The only major difference between the two slings is the width of the shoulder pad. Obviously, this will be a major deciding factor in which you opt to buy, the Falcon’s is 2 3/8” wide and straight shoulder ‘pad’, whilst the Eagle show a more ergonomic, elongated oval design measuring 3 ½” at its widest point.

The Rifle Sling Swivel Set fitted to the slings can be bought separately too for those who prefer to tailor to suit their needs. Presumably sourced in the Far East, the quality is testament to how quickly the manufacturers in those countries have met up with our ‘industry standards’ and more so what we in the UK expect of this type of kit. I’ve tried the slings on heavy rifle combos, and quite frankly I can’t fault them for operation, strength or their corrosion resistance.

NEW TO ME

I’ve featured most of the neoprene range of rifle accessories in past reviews, but next up are a couple of goodies that were new to me, the Moderator Covers and Stock Recoil Pad. Granted, many other companies offer similar products but if you want to ‘match up’ and camo co-ordinate your rifle kit, like the slings both are available in all of JP’s own camo designs.

The Moderator Covers measure 12” with an internal diameter of approximately 2”. They’re manufactured from top quality 10mm neoprene which can be cut to length and will securely hug many popular firearm moderators such as the Reflex T4, T8 and Wildcat. The Stock Recoil Pad is manufactured from 3mm thick to use a ‘JP’ quote “Super Grip Neoprene”. It comes with 3 X 8mm foam spacers and will suit any long gun – air, fire or shot!
