Napier Razorback Rifle Carrier

The Razorback range of gun luggage will be known to many readers, as most items have been featured in these very pages. The Razorback Rifle Carrier is available in two sizes, standard and carbine; both are also available in grey, green and (as shown) the very appealing terracotta. The standard measures 48-inches in length and 10-inches at the deepest point, while the carbine version has the same depth but is 42-inches long.

The build of the bag consists of a tough canvas outer known as ‘LAMTEC’, a material that is waterproof and abrasion resistant. This is bonded to four function layers, a waterproof membrane, high density 10mm foam, EVA tough shell and a soft, Syn-fleece lining to protect the rifle once inside. There’s also an internal butt ‘retainer’ sleeve and retainer strap; so, no sliding around in transit.

The main strength of the gunbag lies in the EVA lateral spine, which forms a hard shell around the gun. This is so tough it will take an incredible 110lb lateral load pressure even when empty! This in itself is a unique feature and offers flight case type protection in a ‘soft sided’ gunbag. The outside of this boasts ARMOUR FLEX scuff panels at the front, rear and middle sections. To the layman, they’re made of a hard very tough rubber!

Self-healing

The bag closes using a heavy-duty zip (with rubberised grip tags) that is self-healing, smooth running with the whole track being further protected by a unique Weather Shield Guard, meaning that the zip is protected from scuffs, knocks, mud and rain.

For the carry handles, Napier have designed what is known as a GRIP LOCK handle. These are ABS, ergonomically designed male and female ‘handle shape’ clips, that ‘mate’ together, to form a secure single handle that’s very comfortable to hold and easy to grip.

The other carrying option is an adjustable shoulder strap in colour co-ordinated, rot-proof, heavy duty Polyester, which has a non-slip and very comfortable rubber shoulder pad. On the outer rear is a similarly protected ‘zip-fasten’ 12- x 6-inch pocket, which, due to its ‘depth’, will easily hold your basic general accessories such as spare ammo, compact binos etc. The bag comes with a Napier VP90 corrosion inhibitor sachet that slips into an internal pouch, and it has a 5-year Warranty.
