Nockover Targets

Nockover Targets

Nockover Targets, based in Basingstoke, were developed back in the 1980s by Derek Peckover, and have become synonymous with top-quality products, built to last.

Derek has relinquished the reins, but the company ethos of quality and reliability, happily continues. Consider that their Field Targets have been used exclusively in the last five World Field Target Championships, and it says it all in terms of the brands standing at top level. Yet, their catalogue also includes a great selection of practice targets, all made to the same exacting standards that we’ve come to expect. On show, here are three classic examples of what this manufacturer is all about, and they are all made up to a standard, not down to a price!

Nockover Ultimate Practice Target

The Ultimate Practice Target is a neat design, which has a 45mm disc at the top and a 40mm disc hanging at the bottom. Hit the top disc and it falls flat; then hit the bottom disc, and this automatically resets the top disc. Simple and addictive fun, as well as great practice. Fancy even more of a challenge? Well that’s no problem, since there’s a steel reducing plate with 15mm and 25mm holes, which can be swung across to cover the lower 40mm hanging disc. Beginners can keep the target fairly close, whilst experienced shots, who wish to fine-tune their skills, simply place the target further down range, and vary the kill size accordingly. This target stands on a strong spike, that is simply pushed into the ground, with no reset cords to worry about.

Manufactured in the UK, to an extremely high standard, using electroplated ‘zintec’ steel, for strength and to resist rust, this Ultimate Practice Target is clearly built to last. So, a wise investment, from one of the best names in the business.

Nockover Field Targets: Rat

If you’re staging a top Field Target event, with prizes and trophies at stake, then the target itself needs to be totally reliable, so why not buy the best! Nockover’s FT targets were developed back in the 1980s, and their FT design quickly became the standard adopted target in FT. They remain in widespread use around the globe today, and are trusted for the big events, when top reliability really matters. Nockover’s patented ‘over centre’mechanism is what lies at the heart of the design. Fire a pellet through the hole and hit the paddle, and the target will collapse – hit the front plate, and nothing happens.

Five different animal shapes are available, a rat (on show here), rabbit, magpie, crow, and squirrel, as well as three non-animal shapes- diamond, moon, and square. All feature the identical knock down design and come supplied with galvanized fixing stakes and a 55-yard reset cord. Just specify whether you want a 15mm, 25mm, or 40mm kill zone. There’s a great selection, and they can even do special orders, so give them a call to discuss any requirements.

Nockover Double Target Pigeon

The Nockover Double Target is a wonderfully simple design, with a thick free-standing front plate in the shape of a pigeon. The head itself is a knock-down target, approximately 45mm x 50mm. Knock this flat, and it can then be reset with an accurately placed shot on the 40mm kill zone in the body.
