Clu-Briter CLUB-1 hand lamp

The Clu-Briter CLUB-1 spotlight is a handheld, rechargeable lamp. Looking a bit like a power drill with its pistol grip handle, it comes with mains and vehicle smart chargers. Power is supplied by a NiMH battery, that though removable is charged in situe. Reasonably light and compact it shows a 60mm lens with rubber outer housing and long angled reflector. Inside is a 200-lumen Cree LED, which Cluson offers a life time warranty on, with a year on the lamp.

The handle has finger grooves and rubber inserts and an ON/OFF trigger-type switch, so feels like a pistol, which makes it very pointable. There are three illumination modes via a selector lever at the top left of the grip giving high and low beam and strobe. Pressing the switch turns it on and you just toggle though the modes as required.

On high the beam is tight and rated out to 250m with a continuous run time of three hours. I found 200m to be more realistic! Low (30-hour run) is more for searching for downed animals and the strobe for emergency use, though can sometimes stop running rabbits. A red filter is an optional extra too. 

Though a practical, short/medium range design for night shooting, the CLUB-1 will also do double duty around the house or in your car. Offering as it does a light and compact lamp that’s easy and instinctive to use.
