Aim padded weapons case 46”

So you got your scope and rifle and you’re done; no way! What about something to keep it safe, if so why not check out AIM SPORTS Padded Weapons case? The build is familiar as most gear of this type follows a similar design. It measures 46 x 14.5 x 3.75” and is of a semi-rigid design. It’s made from a tough, 1000 denier polyester material and is heavily padded internally for protection. Though you could not put this on a plane as it’s not a rigid box I’d bet it could take all the punishment of air travel without raising a sweat!

DOUBLING UP

Inside is a full sized removable divider that separates both halves as the case is designed to carry two rifles up to 45” in length. The divider folds out to 42x26.5” to offer a useable shooting mat. Security is provided by three Velcro straps and butt and muzzle retainers per side. A nice feature is that there’s a thick padded strip that sits below the length of the zip to give full, all-round protection to the contents. A full-length YKK zip is used that features padlock eyes for added security; strong pull tags are also fitted.

For hand carry there’s fully stitched, wrap-around handles with Velcro wrap. On the front is extra stowage, there are two zippered (YKK again) pouches 11x13x1.5” and 11x10x1.5” the former having a Velcro divider. On the outside of both are Molly attachment loops. At the other end are three, large, PVC-lined pouches with Velcro flaps that can take AK, M14 and AR15 mags. Each one can easily swallow 3 x 30-round AR clips.

HUMP IT

As can be imagined the 46” case with two rifles and all your gear is not light and typically AIM also offers a concealed harness system. Opening the Velcro panel on the rear shows an integral back harness complete with sternum and adjustable, padded QD shoulder straps. Sensibly it’s positioned towards the base so no problem with the load catching on low cover or your legs as you walk! Also included is a wide/adjustable, padded shoulder strap with QD snap hooks that attach to metal eyes on the carry handles. All this lot when not needed is stowed under the Velcro panel to keep it out of the way.

In use the case proved a solid and practical design; protection from the elements and general knocks and bumps is excellent. It is big but then again it’s supposed to be, if you want something smaller then there’s a 36” version. It’s available in black and sand too. No complaints and if you need a tough gun bag this is it!
