For those shooters that run black guns (or more likely desert tan these days), or for airsoft skirmishers with SMGs, assault rifles or other compact weapons - Maxpedition have the ideal discreet carry case in their Sliver II.
Made of heavy duty nylon canvas material, the Sliver II is available in two lengths (38” or 41”) – and three colours (black, olive drab and khaki). This twogun carry case is extremely well constructed and offers a lot of useful features. We’ve been looking at the 38” version in black.
There are two large compartments on the case which are both capable of carrying a medium sized weapon. The main padded compartment is 38” long and 11” wide which will comfortably accommodate most assault rifles; it easily swallowed a full size AK47 replica complete with banana mag. attached (not that you’d carry them that way). There’s a roll-out barrel cover in this compartment which can provide temporary protection for firearms that are longer than the bag – or for an assembled ‘take-down’ rifle if you are using the case for that purpose. The roll-out cover extends the complete length to 56.5”. Wrap around zips on both compartments allow them to be completely opened out flat – the main compartment can be pressed into service as an improvised shooting mat if required.
The separate front padded compartment is 31” X 10” with a divider, so you could pack a carbine sized weapon plus other kit if required and keep them safely apart. You can easily stow small items and paperwork here too.
The carry handles are sewn all the way around the main compartment for extra strength and load support. An 1.5” adjustable shoulder strap - complete with padded shoulder pad – is included, along with two sets of D-rings on the bag for a choice of carry position – vertical or horizontal.
The Maxpedition Sliver II gun case is discreet, compact and heavy duty, offering good value at £93.95 for the 38” version on test (the 41” is special order – price on application).
