5.11 Shear Sunglasses

The result of a partnership between 5.11 and Wiley X, the Shear glasses feature distortion-free lenses made from “Selenite” carbonate which makes them 10-times more impact resistant than resin or glass lenses, while a “T-Shell” coating gives great scratch, craze and crack resistance as well.

Exceeding ANSI Z87.1-2003 and EN166F safety and optical standards, the Shear glasses give 100% UVA and UVB protection and have an 8-base “smoke” tint to provide maximum glare reduction and reduced colour distortion.

The glasses have frames made from a high strength, low density, extremely tough “Grilamid” nylon 6/6 material and feature natural rubber inserts for a long lasting, comfortable and secure friction fit.

To protect the glasses, the Shears come with a 5.11 Slickstick moulded carrying case (easy to mount on Molle type webbing or a belt), a neoprene retention strap and a bag made from lens cleaning cloth.

All in all, the 5.11 Shear Sunglasses use top quality materials to provide great protection from UV light and flying debris in a contemporary style. Tough, practical, comfortable and some of the best eye protection I have worn, the 5.11 Shear sunglasses cost around £70, while a polarized version costs around £90.
