story continues below...

Offering the quad user a wide-ranging though at times slightly complicated selections, Honda’s eleven utility variations fall into three distinct categories of Fourtrax, Foreman and Rincon models. Either permanent 2 or Honda patented TraxLok 2 and 4 wheel drive and further divided into Light Work, Utility, Heavy Duty or Leisure & Light Work with three distinct transmissions of manual, electronic shift or automatic. Honda’s time proven engines range from 229cc to 675cc although the majority of the range centre around 420cc, with five of the seven engines liquid cooled, the remainder by air.

All Honda’s quads employ shaft drive along with either hydraulic or sealed disc brakes at the front with either sealed mechanical drum or hydraulic disc to the rear complimented by independent double-wishbone front and rear suspension or swingarm. For whatever reasons, Honda don’t actually quote front and rear rack or towing capacities but combined inclusive maximums vary between 193kg and 273kg, dealers able to quote more exact facts and figures.
