Experience the most traditional of all fieldsports at Gleneagles

  • Deerstalking, the most traditional of the Scottish country pursuits, is now available at Gleneagles. Guests can experience the challenge and thrill of getting close to the wild red and roe deer of Perthshire and connect with sporting traditions of our forefathers.

  • Immersed in the Scottish hills, guests will enjoy the time-honoured method of harvesting venison. Accompanied by a stalker who knows the hills intimately and will be able to find and close in on deer, guests may well spot golden eagles or peregrine falcons soaring above. The “Monarch of the Glen” isn’t always easy to stalk, but, with generations of experience, the stalker will show guests how stealth, field skills and an unsurpassable understanding of the wild deer can take them within range of these majestic beasts.

  • Guests will be provided with a delicious picnic, prepared in the kitchens of Gleneagles, which includes Garden Café ciabatta sandwiches, Findony pork sausage rolls, potato crisps, fresh fruit and a selection of soft drinks to enjoy on the hill. Barbour jackets and Hunter wellies can be provided for the stalking experience, and rifles and ammunition will be provided, as well as transport to and from the hotel is included.

  • Price: £1,095 per person per day for stags, £750 per person per day for roe or red hind. The maximum number of people per group is two, and the minimum age is 15 – young people must be accompanied by an adult. Trophies can be prepared, prices available on request. The price includes use of rifle and scope, as well as binoculars. Rooms start at £520 per night based on two sharing, and include a full Scottish breakfast each morning and use of The Health Club facilities.
