Edgar Brothers has announced its sponsorship of one of shooting sport’s all-round rising stars, Ben Mcilwaine, in this year’s Precision Rifle League (PRL). Ben, a research scientist at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire, competed in the inaugural 2019 PRL season, securing multiple top 10 finishes and winning two PRL extreme long range (ELR) challenges. A keen reloader with a passion for precision shooting, he aims to finish in the top five this year and continue to win ELR matches. As part of the sponsorship deal, Ben will receive a Barratt MRAD in 6.5 Creedmoor, Bushnell optics, Hornady ammunition and reloading supplies, and an Eberlestock Sniper Sled drag bag. Having started shooting at a young age, Ben’s achievements include a classification World Championship trophy for Sporting clays, multiple Junior County Championships in English Skeet, Sporting, Sportrap and FITASC, an AAA classification, multiple medals at the British Universities championships, plus third position in the NRA Civilian Service Rifle national league. “I am very proud to be representing Edgar Brothers as an individual sponsored shooter and to be a brand ambassador for Barrett, Bushnell, Hornady and Eberlestock.
