The British Deer Society Internet Auction

  • It’s not long now until the BDS internet auction, when some fabulous lots will be up for grabs again raising funds for the British Deer Society. We have had great support from our donors and there will be some amazing items to bid for with a few special surprises like Number One of a new limited edition print of red deer by wildlife artist Ian MacGillivray, a delicious Lunch Tasting Menu for two with Wine at the Michelin two star Ledbury Restaurant in Notting Hill or a day’s ratting with the Nadder Valley Rat pack!

  • With a great selection of country sports on offer such as salmon fishing, red and sika stalking in Scotland, roe in Somerset, fallow in Sussex, Chinese water deer in Norfolk or hunting wild boar in Germany we are expecting a great auction. Plenty to choose from plus sporting goods, luxury holiday lets and even an off the grid camping and camp fire cooking experience.

  • “Every year the auction seems to get even better,” says BDS Chairman Michael Thick. “We receive a lot of feedback from bidders taking the opportunity to hone skills, maybe stalk unfamiliar terrain or perhaps try something different like off road driving. We are so grateful to all our generous donors who provide these opportunities and help raise funds for BDS education and research projects”.

  • Hosted by eBay for Charity, bidding starts early evening on Friday 18th May with individual lots starting and finishing early evening on 3 consecutive days. All lots run for 10 days before ending so if you aren’t lucky at first you can try again!

  • The auction catalogue is available within the Spring issue of Deer Journal, or can be downloaded via the BDS website www.bds.org.uk on the Fundraising page from 9th April.
