0241 Tactical Gear

0241 Tactical are a relatively new company on the scene founded in March 2012 by two former military personnel, one prior service USMC, and the other USAF. The company aim to produce useful accessories, enabling those operating in less than hospitable areas, to offer protection for them and their gear from the elements. They have good insight and understanding gained from firsthand experience during numerous deployments to the Middle East and Korea, that they have used in the development of simple but essential protective gear. 

Sand Gets Everywhere…

Many of the products 0241 Tactical make were items they wished that they’d had while on deployment in Iraq. As they recall, sand got everywhere and they were using t-shirts to cover their faces to help prevent sand from getting into mouths and nostrils, which just didn’t work that well. 

So keeping that environment in mind they began making a few items to help combat the elements while remembering who their customers were initially; soldiers on a budget. 0241 Tactical bluntly state that they don’t want to charge high prices for their items, they want their products to be available to everyone from soldiers serving overseas (they’ve already had a lot of military purchases for entire units) to Airsoft enthusiasts looking to protect their face and enhance their camouflage scheme. They have selected a UK distributor in Tactical Kit because TK shares the opinion that the guys who need the products should be able to afford them.

Snivel Gear

All in all 0241 Tactical have a massively impressive range of what I’m sure many would refer to as the ultimate in “snivel gear”. These are items that everyone needs but are rarely issued, so I believe it’s absolutely commendable that 0241 Tactical have gone to so much effort to keep prices sensible. Tactical Kit in the UK already have stock of the products in, and many are already up on their website.

Examples are; Cotton Jersey Neck Gaiters which are available for just £15, and the fleece versions are £16.50; Fleece Watch Caps start at just £16.00, and their take on the good old shemagh in the very latest camo patterns is £17.95. TRU style Pocket Covers come at £17.50, with ACOG Covers at £19.99. Pack Covers range in price from just £21.00 for the Patrol Pack Cover, up to £23.50 for the Backpack Cover. These are keen prices in anyone’s book, and I think TK may struggle to keep stock once word gets out about these super products!

On Test

I’ve had a number of the products out on test for a couple of months now, and thus far I’m very pleased by the performance and the sheer quality of both the fabrics used and the way in which everything is put together. Although the prices are keen I can tell you that this is in no way reflected by sub-standard quality. All of the kit gets a huge “thumbs up” from me, and I’ll leave the last word to 0241 Tactical themselves;
