On the face of it HWI gear is a new brand but if you dig a little bit deeper it turns out that the gloves, pads and accessories offered by them actually benefit from years of experience due to the individuals behind the scenes.
For anyone who has been around the tactical gear scene for a while the name Bill Hatch will immediately ring bells. Hatch glove designs are synonymous with practicality, quality and performance.
When Bill’s brother decided to retire in December 2003 the decision was taken to sell the original Hatch business with Bill staying on to assist in product development. For various reasons he left in 2007 and has had no input to the old business since that time. However, he ain’t left the building entirely when it comes to gloves, and now he is one of the driving forces behind the HWI brand. With over 36 years of experience in designing and manufacturing HWI Gear have the expertise, background, and ability to offer a small range of high quality, highly functional products.
Flexible and Dextrous
The new HWI Combat Glove in Multicam offer premium flexibility, feel and protection. The contour design and high quality materials give a comfortable form-fit to add dexterity and feel for better weapon control.
The gloves feature synthetic leather providing excellent dexterity with high abrasion resistance, with an ergonomic “contour cut” design. They have high-density foam palm padding for comfort, a wrapped trigger finger design, dynamic high-density foam knuckle and hand protection, and strategically placed weapon cradle reinforcement.
Overall the tech-spec on these is impressive, but it’s not until you actually get them on your hands that you realise just how very good they are! Straight off they are comfortable and the fit is exemplary. I can see that as they wear in a little they are just going to get even better, and even after a few game days they feel like they’ve been with me forever. Very highly recommended!
Available in colours Multicam (tested), Black, Tan, Sage, the new HWI Combat Gloves cost £42.50. For more information and stockist details please visit www.top-of-the-range.co.uk
