The Lightweight Mesh Suit comes in the standard and familiar format of a two-piece (smock & trousers) pull over design. The trousers are elasticated at the waist with a draw cord and ankle. Similarly the smock has elasticated cuffs with a draw cord on the integral hood so you can cinch it down good and tight when in use.
Rustle Who?
The suit is made of nylon in their own, English Oak pattern and I was pleased to note the garments don’t rustle when moving and are of a generous fit, but even for somebody of an average build I’d suggest you opt for the larger version. The other benefit is the suit is light and you can roll each individual item up and store easily in a side cargo pocket of 6-pocket combat trousers which is what most hunters will wear under them.
Now to the accessories that in my opinion are necessities for a complete cover up. The lightweight mesh balaclava is open-faced to the bridge of the nose but offers complete concealment as it has an integral, drop-down, see-through face veil. A rear toggle adjusting draw cord sorts out the fit and the build extends down far enough at the front to completely cover the neck.
Give It The Finger
Hands are catered for by the aptly named ‘Sure-Fit’ Shooters Gloves. They are not mesh but of an 88/12% Polyester/Lycra stretch fit design with palm dot grip. Extra long cuffs ensure you’re completely covered up. The build is light and you won’t have to cut material away from the trigger finger to allow a decent feel, as it offers this without modification. The hat isn’t necessary but I prefer baseball-style caps for the airgun hunter especially for shading eyes and helping with the overall use of any camo outfit.
This featured is like the balaclava and gloves of the one-size fits all design but manufactured from what JP describe as Stealth Fabric. Again in English Oak Camo for me it adds the finishing touch to this useful lightweight suit.
To sum up: The garments featured are as good as any of their kind and as I expected will totally ‘suit’ the airgun hunter. If I had a minor quibble it’d have been the balaclava and gloves should have been included in the Mesh Suit combo, but considering the very low price and the higher build spec of the gloves I say buying as optional extras is bone fide as some shooters will choose to wear other brand mesh gloves or balaclava – but due to the quality, design and effectiveness of these I say “Let ‘JP’ kit you out…”
