The Forest is possibly Jahti Jakt’s most versatile designs to date due to the fact that it’s available to fit adult males, ladies and even children. That’s possibly why there are so many colour options of Green, Brown, Camo and Reed Camo.
Featured here is the one-colour Green Forest suit, ideal for stalking or any outdoor activity during warmer weather. However, as I detail the build you’ll notice, like us they must have dodgy summers in Scandinavia, when a sudden spell of rain comes over and the wind gets up…
The company will only say the suit is manufactured from a durable Teflon Wax treated material. Unlike some treated fabrics this thankfully is almost silent in use. It’s fully breathable, windproof to a higher degree than you’d imagine and if you wash this suit correctly and treat it afterwards with say Pinewood’s Waterproofer you can be confident you’ll be kept dry except in a really prolonged downpour.
The lightweight jacket features a detachable adjustable hood and inner detachable insect hood. Both are secured when in place by press stud fasteners. The collar can be worn up or folded back depending on this.
There are four outer pockets, two very generously sized lower cargo pockets with press stud down overflaps and above each are two zip fastening side entry pockets that can be used as hand warmers or for extra stowage. On the inside are two zip fastening pockets and a mesh lining. It features an inner draw cord and toggle fastener for drawing into the waist area and the front fastens up with press studs behind the stylish protective storm flap. The cuffs are Velcro strap adjustable.
The trousers use a similar strong build to the jacket and are generously ‘action cut’ for ease of movement. The waist is elasticated, has belt loops and button and zip fly fastening. The pockets are the same as the jacket in style with a rear cargo pocket, hand warmer pockets and side cargo pockets. The ankles, like the jacket cuffs, have Velcro adjustment straps for cinching around footwear.
The first time you slip into this lightweight suit you can’t fail to notice how all the features are in exactly the right place and easily accessible. It’s very comfortable, being so light you hardly know your wearing such a relatively hi-tech yet protective garment.
The Jahti Jakt Forest Suit is priced between £99.95 to 109.95 depending on colour or camo pattern. For further information and details on stockists, contact Arctic Outdoor on 08453 890 370 or visit the website at www.arcticoutdoor.co.uk
