Made from a tough and durable 113gm 65% polyester 35% ripstop cotton fabric which is printed with the Realtree Xtra camouflage pattern, the 5.11 Realtree Taclite shirt is constructed to a very high standard with triple stitching and bar tacks on stress points for strength and durability, and has reinforced elbows for wear resistance. The 5.11 logo is embroidered over the left chest pocket with an Orange square reticule design.
With a generous cut, the shirt gives plenty of freedom of movement without looking baggy, while a deep ‘cape’ cut yoke provides good ventilation and is lined with a moisture wicking mesh to keep nasties out and your back comfortable. As well as having reinforced elbows the sleeves have twin position buttoning cuffs, a deep button-closed placket that makes rolling your sleeves up comfortable, and button tabs to hold them tidy once rolled.
The collar is a classic ‘stand and fall’ style with concealed buttons that can be used for a smart look (with a tie if you want!) or left undone (without looking odd) for that casual look. The front closing is a strongly made button stand with seven melamine buttons, more closely spaced than on many shirts, which allows more ventilation control.
The pockets on the front of the shirt are twin inverted pleat pockets with Velcro-closed pocket flaps, both pocket flaps incorporating a pen slot and behind these standard pockets are patented hidden document pockets. These pockets – almost invisible at first glance – have vertical openings which are closed with twin Velcro tabs; they cover the whole of the chest area and can hold a lot more than just a few documents!
The Realtree print gives proven camouflage concealment and as the shirt can be worn as a light jacket/overshirt it offers an effective lightweight, camouflage layer for when it is too warm for wearing a full-spec camo jacket.
I have found the 5.11 Realtree Taclite Shirt to be almost my ideal shirt for work, play and travel, especially during the heat of summer, although in its shades of brown , the Reatree camouflage may prove most effective before the leaves are fully out on the trees or after they turn in autumn.
Available in sizes S-XXL the 5.11 Realtree Taclite shirt costs around £65.00.
Made from the same fabric as the Realtree Taclite shirt, the 5.11 Realtree Taclite trousers have loads of features that make them great field trousers, especially for warmer weather.
The partially elasticated waistband sports a snap closure and seven solid belt-loops, and is very comfortable, while the YKK metal zip fly also has a separate button closure on the flap behind the zip.
There are two deep bag front pockets and two big back pockets (built into the double thickness seat) with velcro- closed diagonal openings. A D-ring is positioned over the right hand front pocket and a webbing strap above the right hand seat pocket, both great for securing kit on the move. There are twin leg pockets with inverted pleats and Velcro-closed cover flaps, while on the left leg there is a bellowsed mobile phone pocket which could also take a good sized knife etc., and on the right front there is an open-topped small utility pocket.
The double layer knees can take knee-pad inserts and the hem is eyeleted to take draw cords.
The trousers are cut to give freedom of movement without being baggy and have a gusseted crotch, while the construction of the trousers is to the highest level with double stitched seams, reinforced lower corners on the front and back pockets (for knife clips etc), multiple bar tacking on stress points and all using quality materials.
Available in sizes 28-44 waist and even inseam 30 and 34 leg lengths, the 5.11 Realtree Taclite trousers are tough, comfortable and quiet in wear, good looking, functional, easy to wash with a Teflon water and stain resistant treatment.
The 5.11 Realtree Taclite trousers cost around £65.00.
