Under Armour Valsetz Boots

The Under Armour Tactical product line has been in continuous development since 1993 and has transformed the way that users have come to rely on performance in all their gear; whether it be for sports shooting or tactical applications Under Armour are among the world leaders, especially in recognising the ‘tactical athlete’. Starting with one T-shirt, Under Armour have evolved their brand to address the needs of the user beyond their excellent next-to-skin products and the range now includes Tactical Gloves, Tactical Footwear and Outer Clothing. Under Armour’s goal is to make the user cooler or warmer, lighter and drier, and more comfortable so they are able to perform at their peak, day after day.

Under Armour combine in the Valsetz Tactical Boot their reputation and knowledge as a leader in the sports and athletic world and have created a really first rate duty/ hunting boot that performs in EVERY way possible This boot will amaze you from the second you put it on your feet!

* High abrasion rubber outsole and built in flex grooves for aggressive traction Now all of this sounds very fine, but what does it mean in the reality? From my perspective it means that you get an extremely lightweight (just 464g per boot in UK Size 9/US 10!), comfortable yet supportive boot in one great package. The weight is almost equivalent to a good cross training shoe, but all the technically innovative features mean you get great foot and ankle support, along with state of the art shock-absorption.

Best Foot Forward

The fit is reasonably generous with a very positive heel cup and a broad toe box; this is ideal for me as I have a narrow heel but broad forefoot. Out of the box the Valsetz felt incredibly comfortable, and from a tactical and hunting perspective the outsole unit is very quiet indeed, even on a hardwood floor!

The Valsetz boot is available in UK 7-12 (13 in Desert). I was sent the new camouflaged ‘Timber’ colour to test; whilst this is a little in your face it’s only the fabric areas that are patterned, with the other areas being very close in tone to the new MOD Brown. I’ve already spoken to the great team at Top of the Range who bring Under Armour products into the UK and with their permission I’ll be trying a little experiment to see if I can re-colour the fabric. If this is indeed possible as I think it is, then this will make a fabulous training boot for use with Multicam and UK issue MTP. As it is the Valsetz is already available in plain Black and Desert, so even if ‘Timber’ is not for you, there’s still something that will take your fancy.

My initial impression of the Valzsetz is that it’s a lot of boot for the £100 price tag and I’m really looking forward to putting them through their paces over a longer period of time. Try them yourself and you’ll see what I mean!
