We all wear big and heavy boots in the winter, but do we need to be strapping them on all year? NO! Zamberlan’s 188 PERK GTX RR (trail & hiking boot) represents a good compromise for warmer times. Using a suede and Cordura upper, there’s a Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort lining for utmost breathability and optimal internal microclimate. Add in a removable, Z-FELT foot bed and Zamberlan’s insole/shank modular flex GT system developed to achieve great degrees of lightness, torsional rigidity and flexibility where needed. There’s extra toe and heel protection and the sole is GRIVOLA Rubber Vibram® which features a well designed outer sole tread pattern with well positioned lugs to ensure good traction and grip. The undercut heel will support the downhill brake too. Ankleheight, they give a good blend of support and light weight. They show six lacings – four captive rings and two upper speed hooks. The padded tongue is full height and ¾-stiched in and gives a good gape for taking on and off, backed up by a pull tab at the rear. Comfortable for all day wear, they only weigh 1.5 lbs each and if you want more calf protection a set of gaiters will sort that out. At the price a great temperate weather boot!
