Seeland Neoprene Side Zip Boots

The big advantage of side-zip boots is that they typically offer a closer fit without making it harder to get the things on or – most importantly - off. But they usually come at a hefty price, and even then the tendency for the zip to clog up or fail, writing off an expensive pair of wellies, puts a lot of us off. Seeland, though, have brought out an affordable boot with a tough rubber outer, a warm neoprene liner, an odour-absorbing foot bed, a comfortable elasticated top trim that keeps water out - even when it goes over the top - and a deeply cleated sole that grips well in mud and snow… PLUS a side zip that after a year’s long-term testing has never stuck and shows no sign of wear.
I did a welly-boot round-up last year, partly to figure out what to replace my “old faithful” Muck Boot Tays, and these Seeland boots have proved to be an excellent answer to that question. They’re smarter too, even if I’d prefer a lighter olive colour over the forest green Seeland have chosen, but at just £70 you really can’t let that put you off!
