Champion Dale, Exmoor & Arundel Bodywarmers

I’ve reviewed quite a few items from Champion Outdoors Clothing and I have never been disappointed with any of their garments. I thought it high time to check out their range of light to medium-weight bodywarmers, of which there are many. Some don’t provide much insulation, yet afford extra water resistance to the upper torso and provide extra stowage due to their abundance of pockets. The following items will fulfil many requirements and are suited to many outdoor situations and a wide range of activities.

Commonality of build

Most of the garments featured use the same or very similar materials. They use a durable 65% polyester and 35% cotton fabric with a water-resistant finish. The major difference in design is the number of pockets and the layout, so in that respect, let’s begin by initially looking at the most lightweight bodywarmer.

Light but useful

First up is the Dale, which features a 100% polyester mesh lining for comfort and has a stylish brushed finish. Storage is catered for by a host of pockets, with either over-flap fastening or zip fasteners, plus there are also useful elasticated pockets attached to the outside of them. Inside, there’s a patch pocket and 2x attachment loops. This bodywarmer fastens up the front with a large, heavy-duty weatherresistant zip. It’s available in Black, Olive or Stone.

High neck

Alternatively, the Exmoor features a 100% polyester quilted lining and has Corduroy shoulder patches and an adjustable hem. Storage is catered for by a multitude of upper and lower pockets, including some obvious folding knife or multi-tool holders. Some have over-flap fastening, while others have zips. There’s also an inside pocket, plus it has useful side-entry pockets. As well as fastening with a large zip front, the Exmoor also features a generous, press-stud storm flap and high collar. It comes in Olive or Navy.

Heavy duty

For those looking for something far more warming, there’s the Arundel. This has a 100% polyester quilted microfibre face fabric with a full fleece lining, corduroy shoulder patches and a studded back vent. Storage is catered for by 2x lower cargo pockets with side entry pockets behind, plus an inside pocket. It fastens with a full-length zip

showing a ring pull and has a zip baffle. It’s available in Black, Olive or Navy.

Conclusions

All the bodywarmers in the range are well-made, are very well priced and have their own unique pocket layouts. If you’re a hunter, fisherman or outdoorsy type who likes to take a few things along for whatever pursuit you’re choosing to participate in, then Champion will have something for you.
