Jack Pyke Ladieswear

For a long time now, I’ve definitely noticed a big difference between men and women, and so have the clothing companies that produce apparel for outdoor use. Yes, the fairer sex has long been well catered for in this department, but mainly it’s been by the very established and dare I say more ‘high-brow’, high street-based brands. Well, that’s definitely not the case now as Jack Pyke has slowly but continually made a considered decision to cater for ladies who participate in any of the outdoor sports where this type of clothing is required.

Getting shirty

First up is the Ladies Countryman Shirt, which is one of the latest additions to the ‘ladieswear’ range at Jack Pyke. It’s manufactured from a 60/40 Chief Value Cotton (CVC) Easycare material, has a semi-fitted body and features adjustable cuffs.

CVC refers to a cotton and polyester blend with a heavier percentage of cotton. These blends were initially made to enable garments to be kept at a reasonable price but it’s also their quality that’s made them a fast and firm favourite in the production of clothing. The ‘easy-care’ tag speaks for itself and the ability of the shirts to be easy to clean is yet another bonus.

As you’d expect, this is a very versatile shirt for any outdoor pursuit.

It’s comfortable but hardwearing and is available in County Check Pink or Large Check Navy and sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18.

It’s armless

Next up is the ladies Countryman Fleece Gilet. It’s manufactured from 300- gram thermal fleece and features the same pocket layout and embellishments as the men’s version, but it’s obviously of a lady’s contoured cut.

Feature-wise, there are 2x lower zipped pockets and it fastens with a fulllength, double puller zip. Nubuck piping flanks the zip and goes around the high stand up collar. It is also featured on the outer edges of the cut off sleeves. It’s now available in Navy, Roselle and a very striking Denim. The sizes on offer are XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL.

Top and toe

Two more items complete the range and they are the Cable Knit Bob Hat and the Ladies Shooting Socks. The Bob Hat is 100% acrylic and features a detachable faux fur pompom. In other words, the fur is an imitation! One size fits all and as headwear of this type goes, it’s well worth investing in to keep the head warm, which is one of the major areas of heat loss. The colours available are Burgundy, Grey, Light Olive, Mustard, Navy and Off-White.

Alternatively, the socks are made of an acrylic wool blend that is designed to keep the feet warm and cosy, plus the material ensures the socks are very comfortable to wear. They come with a matching garter and are available in Green with Pink contrast and in UK Sizes of 6 to 9.
