Ridgelines Season Jacket

ere we have another high-quality garment from Ridgeline manufactured from one of the company’s very own in-house fabrics known as RL-Tex; a material many class as the ultimate in wet weather technology.

However, based on, but progressing forward from this in grade, is the fabric RL-Tex Pro, RL #Hi-DROSTRETCH 3K and 5K fabric. I mention this because the Seasons jacket is manufactured from 3K. The relevance of this is that the 3 and 5 numerical denotations equate to the breathability rating of the material.

The advantage of RL #Hi-DROSTRETCH is the reduction in weight when compared to other fabrics that are available with the same technical ability to allow movement without restriction. This results in the company being able to produce high-performance shell garments, which are perfectly suited for any environment, allowing wearers to challenge the elements with confidence and comfort.

Waterproof & breathable

The Seasons Jacket is also completely waterproof, showing a 10,000 H20 rating. It is also rated 3,000 MVT breathable and is very light in weight. It features a generously sized, integral pack away wired hood with toggle adjusts. There are also toggle adjusters on the lower hemline.

The entrance to this non-insulated, lined jacket is via two-way double YKK zippers covered and protected by a press stud fastened storm flap. It also has a high stand-up storm collar which the hood easily packs into. There’s a zipped left breast pocket, two lower zip fastened cargo/bellows style pouches with press stud fasten over flaps, plus all the zips feature pull assists. There are Velcro adjustable cuff straps to prevents water ingress plus its fully seam sealed. All the press-studs and zips are weatherproofed.

Conclusions

Without a doubt, the design and build quality are at a very high level. It is fully waterproof, durable and offers great breathability with the bonus of being very lightweight. Considering - as its name suggests - it’s suitable for all-yearround wear and that it only weighs 529-grams, makes the Ridgeline Seasons Jacket possibly the lightest high-performance jacket currently on the market.
