Established and very wellknown for their tactical clothing and accessories, recently Viper seem to be releasing more of what you could term general purpose or what is classed as leisure wear. Also, as with sister company Jack Pyke’s recently launched Weardale range of clothing it seems (as is appropriate for this time of year) what is often known as ‘Quilted’ wear is becoming high on both brands agenda.
This is the category the lightweight Viper Ultima Jacket firmly falls into.
Manufactured from 100% polyester it features a 2-way main zip opening, 2x zipped handwarmer pockets – all with pull assists, plus a concealed internal zipped breast pocket. The high padded stand-up collar and lower hemline feature elasticated toggle adjust drawcords while the elasticated cuffs also have thumbholes.
It’s very well-padded with an outer quilted design that incorporates smooth outer panels seen at the upper and along the arms. Here you also find its generously sized Velcro ID patches positioned just below either shoulder. The jacket has what is interestingly termed a ‘Viper Tactical Lining’ which is smooth to the touch and coupled with the outer gives the jacket its very reasonable weather and water-resistant properties. The generous cut is also of a fish tail design making it ideal for when you need sit or be fully covered at the rear.
