Jack Pyke’s Countryman trousers are a dark green cotton canvas fabric, reinforced with 600D Waterproof Oxford Cordura at the knees. The mid-weight fabric offers excellent breathability with silent movement, yet the reinforced knees and seat keeps high-wear regions free from damage and resists tears. Thorns won’t ‘pull’ threads from the fabric and protect your legs when moving through brambles and other heavy foliage.
Pockets are sited at the front of the hips with another cargo pocket closed with poppers on each thigh, there are no rear hip pockets however. Elasticated and Velcro adjustable cuffs are sited at the hem of each leg to close securely over your boots. A secure button at the waistband sits above a zip fly, with multiple belt loops to hold a belt. Articulated knees streamline the fit of the legs, with a mesh lining further aiding breathability for the windproof material offering all day comfort that has proven its durability to this reviewer. Not too expensive to be frightened to wear in arduous environments, with light rainwater shedding characteristics and thankfully, quiet to walk in with the 600D materials preventing any seepage when kneeling on wet ground.
