Sportsmatch DM80 Picatinny Dampa Mount

Sportsmatch aren’t a company to rest on their laurels, and the new DM80 Dampa is another top-quality product, machined and finished to their world-renowned exacting standards. Made from aircraft grade aluminium, the DM80 is specifically designed to fit Picatinny rails, which incorporate spaced ridges and gaps. Three evenly spaced cross bars in the base of the mount locate into corresponding gaps on the rifle’s rail, and then knurled bolts tighten up and lock the mount into place around the rail. It’s a belts and braces approach which may seem a little unnecessary on airguns; yet with an increasing number of rifles featuring Picatinny rails, selecting an appropriate mount has never been more important.

The base itself is effectively two-part, with the top section sitting on small rubber bushes. The idea is that the sometimes harsh, incredibly quick, two- way recoil, unique to recoiling airguns, can be absorbed – with the result that the scopes lenses are protected. Spring powered guns can possess quite a kick, but the modern trend for gas- ram powered rifles, where the two-way snap can be even more aggressive, has given rise to a need, which Sportsmatch have cleverly capitalised upon.

One point to note is that several rifles use only Picatinny STYLE rails, where a non- standard specification and dimensions may result. For all genuine Picatinny specified guns however, the new DM80 is the perfect solution.
