Sportsman Monopod

A shooting monopod is something that every rifle shooter will own. Equally, if you own one you’ll have owned multiples, since I guarantee we’ve all bent at least two, lost or misplaced a couple more, snapped one in half after slamming the tailgate on yet another one or pulled one of the sections out too far and the job lot’s collapsed beyond redemption. Now granted there’s not a lot to say about a mono-pod but when Sportsman Gun Centre add HSF to their portfolio, there’s got to be something about them.
So what is it exactly? To start with, at just £14.99 you can afford to work your way through these HSF mono-pods and have plenty in reserve, the cost alone considerably less than most others. Constructed from three telescopic aluminium lightweight sections, at its shortest the HSF measures 34 inches, extending to 6’ 4” at its longest, the twist to lock sections allowing the shaft to clamp into place at any measurements in between. Removable, perchance the user wants to support a camera or other such, the wide span, serrated on the inside, grooved grips on the outer surfaces, the gun rest itself will comfortably hold a variety of forearm widths.
To aid physical control, an adjustable wrist strap ensures the stick can be secured to the shooter’s wrist, whilst an extended length of double layer of close cell foam is wrapped around the upper most section. At the opposite end, the carbide tipped spike, useful on rocky terrain, can be used as is, or covered with the rubber foot. Either way, a detachable soft rubber basket adds additional grip on muddy or snow-covered surfaces.
Matt black to ensure the monopod surface doesn’t transmit any unwanted reflections, the HSF monopod will, for most rifle shooters, suit any and all needs. Strong and as sturdy as any mono-pod can possibly be, when set at a suitable height the pod makes for a reliable walking aid, invaluable when traversing uneven terrain or quietly easing branches out of the way. Likewise, the stick will prove invaluable as a spotting scope, binocular or camera rest.
