Milbro now have a couple of items for rifle protection before and while in storage. These are The Milbro Rifle/Scope Sock and Cleaning Cloth. The ‘Sock’ is made from a super stretchy natural material and is roomy enough to take virtually all rifles with scopes fitted. It’s a useful aid to storage and the cotton helps wick away moisture from the rifle and protects against rust, dirt and scratches. This is because it’s impregnated with silicon, the agent that dispels water and leaves a residue that protects metal. It’s also a useful aid to gun transport and storage, helping to keep the rifle drier and giving a reasonable level of protection from scrapes and bumps during storage.

The Cleaning Cloth is made from a similar material, treated with a more ‘liberal amount’ of silicon. It’s very effective at wiping down a rifle easily removing marks and fingerprints, and it should be used everytime you handle the gun before storage. It’s also a great encouragement to handle rifles and guns by the stock only - as the barrels become very slippy!
