Viper Special Ops Pack

Viper Special Ops Pack

The Special OPS Pack has always been available in DPM, Black or Green, and now Viper have added Multi-Cam (MC) as an option.

Usually, Viper kit is made from 600D material but for this and other Viper MC kit they’ve used the original 1000D material that the creators of the camo design - Crye Industries – use. So immediately you’ve got a multi-purpose non terrain specific pack, and one made from a hard wearing and tear-proof material.

Hydration System

story continues below...

Specified as a 45 litre day pack it can hold a lot of kit and extra clothing as well as having a dedicated internal separate pocket that holds part of the Hydration System (2L water bladder), with a concealed hole at the top for the feed hose which has a tap operated mouthpiece with cover. The main compartment has a double zip and toggle fastening oval top, measuring 14” in height to the apex by 12” at its widest point. There’s also a fl at pocket with a diagonal running zip with pull toggle fastening - equal in dimensions of height and width as the one it piggy backs off. Ideal for maps and smaller less cumbersome items you may require quickly including multi-tools or folding field knives. The ace in the hole for the Special OPS Pack is the amount of webbing at the rear and sides, compatible with the Viper pouches that use the Viper Modular System for extra stowage or to keep things separate. There is now quite a comprehensive range of pouches to choose from so you can tailor the lay-out to suit your particular requirements.

Compression straps are found both sides and the carry harness is made up of two fully adjustable shoulder straps with well padded and contoured shoulder pads, including a webbing snap buckle sternum strap and side padded 2” wide waist band that fastens with a ‘Quick Release’ ABS clip in buckle fastener. Two pairs of ‘D-rings are found on both shoulder straps and the pack has a padded rear with mesh outer for air circulation. This offers a sturdy yet forgiving section to tighten the shoulder harness against, so helps lessen pressure on the lower back. A top one-hand carry strap allows quick pick-ups.

I can certainly see a use for a large pack like this Viper Special OPS Pack, especially if you require a hydration system. For hunting forays in the colder months you’ve got plenty of room internally and with a few pouches attached you can take all you need (and more) for any type of hunting.

The Viper Special OPS Pack is priced at around £89.95. Contact Thatchreed Limited on 01234 740327 for your nearest stockist or visit www.viperkit.com
