Mauser’s M12 Max now available in the UK

German gunmaker Mauser has launched a new thumbhole stock version of its bestselling M12, originally launched in 2013. Thumbhole stocks, which offer greater control,  while also allowing for a more relaxed wrist, have seen a huge rise in popularity among rifle shooters.

  • Made from high-grade laminated wood, the M12 Max encompasses all the best values that Mauser is renowned for, the stock offers streamlined contouring and fine chequering on the stock, which has the appearance of walnut. Distributed in the UK by Blaser Sporting, CEO Robert Sajitz commented: “Thumbhole stocks have been on the rise for the past year or two, and Mauser’s version is one of the best wooden versions on the market. The design sits incredibly comfortably in the hand, and not only is this stock tough and robust, it also has a high-end look to it. It’s balanced, practical and definitely a grade above any of its competitors.” The M12 Max also features Mauser’s standard smooth bolt movement, with the bolt lift being a short 60˚ and the anti-slip bolt handle, reloading is quick and easy, even in the toughest conditions. The Smooth-Roll-Safety combines the traditional Mauser firing pin safety with three positions.

  • Available in a variety of calibres from .22-250Rem, .243Win and 6.5x55 to .300WinMag, 7mm Rem Mag and .338 WinMag, the M12 Max has a magazine capacity of five plus one in standard and four plus one in Magnum. The standard calibres weigh approximately 7lb, with a length of 42in, while the Magnum calibres weigh approximately 7.25lb with a length of 443/8in. The M12 Max features the standard full steel construction with wide loading breach, as well as the detachable zigzag magazine.
